Maggie Martin
Financial Analyst / Atlas Copco
I have lived in Brno for over nine years with my partner and our son. After graduating from university, I started working as an English teacher at a language school. My friend then mentioned an open position for an English speaker with German at the shared service center at Atlas Copco. I never dreamed of working in finance, but it seems to be my thing.

I am finishing my Ph.D. in material sciences and working part-time as a laboratory technician. After studying in my home country, Colombia, I also did research in Brazil and came to Brno to research the use of photocatalysis for environmental applications.

Bruno Zalubil
Copywriter/Marketing / Jetveo
I have lived in Brno with my family for more than 16 years. In the United States, I was a sports journalist and worked as a publicist for professional horse racing. After moving to the Czech Republic, I switched to teaching English, writing, and editing. Now I work in marketing and copywriting at Jetveo, a software start-up that builds low-code web applications.

I am originally from Lithuania, and before relocating to Brno, I spent six years studying in Sweden. I used to be a part of a communications team at my company before moving on to a team leader’s role for the Tieto Mainframe Services team. I am a very active person who loves going to the gym, playing volleyball, figure skating, or doing yoga in my spare time.

After working for some of the biggest world banks, I now run a start-up called pleXpad. Our goal is to make renting office space easy and convenient. We offer an online platform connecting office providers to people and companies wanting to rent spaces. Although pleXpad is a British company, we based the development team in Brno.

Her studies and later professions took her all over the world, yet Alexandra Georgescu eventually settled in Brno.
