Join Velvet Innovation Conference, the #brnoregion flagship event

The third edition of Velvet Innovation will take place on Wednesday, 15 November 2023, at the Passage Hotel in Brno. In addition to showcasing the innovation scene in Brno and South Moravia, the Velvet Innovation conference brings current topics and trends, not only in the field of technology. This year's theme is the future of the region in the light of global challenges. What can we do for the sustainable prosperity of Brno, the Czech Republic, the whole planet? And how can innovation change the world? Meet like-minded innovators and be inspired by local success stories.
 

Daria Krivonos, futurist and CEO of Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies, has accepted the invitation for the opening keynote. In her talk, she will reflect on how to prepare for the future while taking into account constant change, uncertainty or cognitive bias. Jan Grolich, Governor of the South Moravian Region, Ondráš Přibyla, CEO of Facts on Climate, and sociologist Daniel Prokop will join her in discussing the future of our region.
 

The opening panel will be followed by 9 program sections in three parallel blocks, ranging from panel discussions, case studies of inspiring companies to a showcase of the best of local startups, innovative projects and young talents. Experts from business and the public sphere will jointly consider the future of mobility, work or investment. Speakers such as Rosalinde van der Vlies from the European Commission and the US Ambassador and VC investor Bijan Sabet have accepted the invitation.
