The purpose of CSMS is to develop and advance standards in the field, provide conceptual prognosis and assessment, and promote the results of research in the field. With more than 300 members, CSMS is an active member of the European Microscopy Society (EMS) and the International Federation of Societies for Microscopy (IFSM). It also collaborates with other national and international organisations with similar goals. Very recently, the CSMS has introduced the formation of its new group of young microscopists (yCSMS). This is a dynamic hub of microscopy enthusiasts, encompassing students and early-career scientists with a fervent interest in microscopy.
