Bio
Computer games were love at first sight for me and my first home computer was a Commodore 64. It was on that computer that I discovered that in addition to playing games, it also allowed me to create graphics and animations. I started experimenting with making games at the age of 15 and practically immediately after graduating from the secondary school of arts and crafts in Turnov, this hobby turned into a job. In 1997 I moved to Brno, where at that time a team working on the original Mafia was being created at Illusion Softworks. I worked there as a graphic designer, later as Art Director and today I am the General Manager. The studio is now part of the 2K Games family and you can also see us in public as Hangar 13, which is an umbrella brand for several studios in the Czech Republic, UK and USA. Working on games still fascinates me as much as it did when I was 15. It's an amazing and creative activity. In addition to working on the Mafia series, I've tried my hand at board game development (Karak and Karak II) and I'm a member and currently chairman of the Game Cluster in Brno.
What did Brno give you?
A job I enjoy and find fulfilling, a new home, a family and a great place to live.
3 things you love about Brno?
I come from a small town called Nechanice, so at first Brno seemed huge and anonymous. From today's point of view, I don't see it that way anymore - I have a lot of friends here, great colleagues at work and I have the impression that I never missed anything important here, whether it concerns cultural activities or sports activities. Although there is still room for improvement, I have to say that Brno has grown close to my heart and I love it.
