Gamebaze, the first game incubator in Czechia opens in Brno

Since 2022, the incubator has been operating in pilot mode and has so far included six game studios.  It already offers game developers and studios a wide range of educational events, consultations with experts and space to work. "Our coworking space extends the Gamebaze service for independent developers who are working solo or remotely and want to be a closer part of the local development community. Alongside the incubator, which is focused on supporting entire teams on their journey to successfully launch a development studio, it is thus the second key element of the overall vision of the future Gamebaze," describes Lukáš Veselý, head of the Gamebaze incubator.

The new coworking space for game developers is another step towards strengthening Brno's position as a major game development centre in Europe. "Brno belongs to the top of the Czech game industry in our country. This is thanks to an ideal combination of top universities, an vivid cultural scene and long-term support for the development of technology companies. This is also the reason why Brno is home to 40 game companies and with them 800 developers," Jakub Bedecs from the GameDev Area initiative, which participates in the operation of the incubator and, among other things, organises Game Access, the largest conference of game developers in Central Europe.
