How did you become involved with Brnoregion Microscopy?
As the President of the
Czechoslovak Microscopy Society and a scientist at the
Institute of Scientific Instruments in Brno, where I am responsible for the operation of the microscopy laboratory, I closely collaborate with the microscopy community in both academic and commercial spheres. My involvement with Brnoregion Microscopy began in 2021, when I served as the main co-organizer of the international microscopy conference—the 16th Multinational Congress on Microscopy—which took place in Brno a year later, in a city that is truly the heart of electron microscopy. The local microscopy community means a great deal to me, and I am very pleased to be actively involved in its various initiatives.
What role do you play in the community?
I work in the Action Group Marketing/PR and I am partially involved in the Group Community. I take part in organizing microscopy conferences, workshops, courses, as well as various activities within the
Days of Electron Microscopy in Brno. Together with fellow enthusiasts of the platform, we strive to connect people, encourage collaboration and mutual support, and showcase the Brnoregion as a global leader in microscopy.
What benefits does it bring to you?
The platform supports me especially in organizing large microscopy events and in communication with other participating entities. Its social media presence works exceptionally well—we help one another, share information, and promote various microscopy-related events. For me personally, Brnoregion Microscopy is above all about a community of great and friendly people who share a common vision and goal: to present Brno as a technologically advanced city that is also a wonderful place to live—a vision I wholeheartedly resonate with.

Brnoregion Microscopy hub is an open and inclusive initiative that welcomes anyone who shares a passion for microscopy and has ideas for how to further strengthen our community. Whether you come from academia, industry, or are just beginning your journey in the field, your voice and contribution matter.
