People of Brnoregion Microscopy: Jana Dvořáková

Jana Dvořáková leads Marketing and PR at the Brno site of Thermo Fisher Scientific. The world of science, technology, and the microscopy community has become a true passion for her — so much so that she has been part of the Thermo Fisher team for over seven years and still full of enthusiasm for moving projects forward and learning new things.

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, Jana is responsible for partnerships with institutions such as the Czech Academy of Sciences, CEITEC, the City of Brno, and many more. She also manages internal communications, campaigns, social media and organizing events to popularize science. Jana supports the popularization of STEM fields in education and she leads collaborations between Thermo Fisher Scientific and Brno high schools and universities. In recent years, she has helped create two fully equipped labs at technical high schools and facilitated the installation of a third electron microscope at a grammar school.

What role do you play in the community?

I'm an active member of the PR and Marketing working group, where I bring fresh ideas and energy to our shared projects — especially initiatives like the Days of Electron Microscopy and other marketing activities and conferences. I really enjoy developing new concepts and contributing to our efforts to make Brno globally recognized as a center of excellence in electron microscopy, a field that continues to push the boundaries of human knowledge.

What benefits does it bring to you?

Strong relationships and a powerful network. In Brno, we pull together — and this spirit of collaboration pays off in the long run. Whether it’s inspiring the next generation to pursue STEM careers or running joint marketing initiatives, having the ability to simply reach out to someone from a different organization and solve things together — informally and efficiently — is incredibly valuable.
