How did you become involved with Brnoregion Microscopy?

While my HR working background might seem unconventional, as I originally studied cybernetics. This foundation shaped my passion for technology and technology companies. My path into the microscopy field began during my time as the HR leader at Thermo Fisher (formerly FEI), where I became personally involved in supporting the microscopy ecosystem—not only in Brno but globally.

Today, as part of the Innovation Centre in Brno, I focus on empowering the talent we need to fuel innovation in microscopy and beyond. This aligns perfectly with my vision of positioning Brno as a worldwide leader in specialized fields like microscopy.

What activities are you involved in within the community?

I work with the Talent Management Group to create an environment where curious, talented individuals can grow their interest in microscopy and develop practical skills. Our goal is to help these individuals make meaningful contributions to the field.

What benefits does it bring to you?

For me, being part of this community is immensely fulfilling. The Innovation Centre supports practices, platforms, and tools that drive our regional innovation ecosystem. It’s truly rewarding to witness the growth of competencies, the development of strong professionals, and the success of companies—all of which enrich the microscopy efforts in Brno.

Do you have any message for the community?

Together, we are positioning Brno as a global leader in microscopy and specialized fields, creating opportunities for professionals and companies to thrive. Come to join us!

NASA, Harvard, Apple, the National Gallery in Washington, Nvidia – they may not seem connected, but they share one thing: Brno. More precisely: instruments made in Brno. And more specifically, instruments they rely on every day. And this only confirms a fact that’s still rarely highlighted: the region has become a global hub for electron microscopy.
