How did you become involved with Brnoregion Microscopy?

As PR & Communications Manager at CEITEC Brno University of Technology, I am naturally responsible for making connections within the community on behalf of this institution – be it scientists, academia but also experts, colleagues, and collaborators involved in the wide field of materials sciences and nanotechnologies. And no surprise here, microscopy is a big part of that. As chance would have it, people from Brnoregion Microscopy were among the first colleagues I met when I started working at CEITEC. And I was fascinated – different people with very different interests (sometimes representing competing companies), all working together on a joint vision of Brnoregion Microscopy. I feel proud to know them, work with them – and be part of the community.

What role do you play in the community?

At most meetings and events, I represent the voice of CEITEC BUT and make sure we all benefit from the connections available. In other words, I make sure our scientists and their amazing work are seen while also helping the region and the community benefit from what we learn here.

What benefits does it bring to you?

As a scientific institution, we have a natural connection with academia. However, modern research is not just about academia. It is about practice, application, and connections. Our scientists focus on material sciences and nanotechnologies, and their research often has practical implications. Brnoregion Microscopy is a way to connect people – connect scientists with other scientists, with investors, with suppliers, with clients, and with competitors, too. The community creates conditions for such meetings and connections, and I am proud that I can play a small part in this.

Do you have any message for the community?

Let’s grow together. Let’s meet, learn from each other, let’s compete 😊 and let’s make sure the world knows about us!
